Kongal Seeds is looking for a capable and confident Logistics & Administration Officer to join its close-knit office team.
 
As a respected seed processing business located 33 kilometres south of Bordertown, Kongal Seeds specialise in seed cleaning, coating and packaging for domestic and export markets.
 
This is a varied role that sits across administration, logistics and dispatch. One minute you might be processing paperwork in the office, and the next you could be helping with a truck movement, checking the weighbridge or jumping on the forklift.
 
For the right person, that variety is exactly what will make the job enjoyable.
 
What you'll be doing:
 
Reporting to the Office Manager and supporting the Operations Manager when required, the role will include:

• Entering and maintaining inventory, order and supplier information
• Coordinating freight, dispatches and incoming and outgoing loads
• Liaising with customers, growers and suppliers
• Supporting weighbridge movements and associated paperwork
• Responding to phone calls and emails
• Supporting the operations team during busy periods
• Operating a forklift and assisting with loading and dispatch where required (licence permitting) 
• General administration and document management
• Pitching in wherever needed to keep things moving

Attention to detail is critical in this role. Kongal Seeds operates in an environment where accurate records, orders, inventory and dispatch information matter. The successful person will be someone who naturally checks their work and takes pride in getting the details correct.
 
Like most agricultural businesses, the workload changes with the seasons. During busy periods things can move quickly, so you'll need to be comfortable communicating clearly and keeping calm when several things are happening at once.
 
About you:
 
Kongal Seeds is less concerned about finding someone who has done this exact job before and more interested in finding someone with the right attitude.
 
You'll ideally be someone who:

• Has previous administration, logistics, dispatch, agricultural or transport experience
• Has excellent attention to detail and takes pride in getting things right
• Communicates confidently on the phone and in person
• Is comfortable dealing with truck drivers, growers and customers
• Can work independently and take responsibility for their work
• Is comfortable using technology, including Word and Excel
• Enjoys variety and doesn't mind moving between office and operational tasks
• Is reliable, trustworthy and willing to pitch in as part of a small team
• A forklift licence would also be an advantage but not essential. 

The opportunity:

• Casual position, generally 20-30 hours per week
• Additional hours available during busier periods
• Supportive Managers and a fun team
• Ideally commencing around 1 December, ahead of the busy season
• Flexible start date for the right person
• Located approximately 33 km south of Bordertown
• Reliable transport required to and from the workplace
