Our client is one of the largest single-sex schools in New Zealand with a reputation for academic excellence, high performance in sports and cultural activities.  They are looking for a professional, experienced and proactive temp to step in as the first point of contact for all school communication whilst they recruit the role permanently.
 
Reporting drectly to the Business Manager, you'll work alongside the Principal and Associate Principal on a day-to-day basis.

This role involves the full marketing mix which includes external/internal communications, content writing as well as branding, advertising, written publications and website content.

As a temp, the main focus will be writing speeches for the Principal and senior leadership team along with:

• Draft, edit and proofread parent communication, staff updates, school announcements - ensuring brand consistency
• Manage school brand, promotional material, website
• Social media, marketing campaigns, event promotion, school photo/video shoots
• Edit and produce fortnightly school newsletter and articles for local community monthly magazine
• Publicity and media liaison including writing press releases
• Report on marketing and communications budget

To be successful you will need to have:

• Relevant degree in Marketing, Communications, PR or Journalism
• Experience in communications/PR including a flair for storytelling when writing content and producing marketing material
• Natural ability to build rapport and develop strong relationships
• MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), WordPress, Adobe Design Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) & Mailchimp would be an advantage
• High attention to detail with the ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines
• A warm down to earth approach and good sense of humour
• High level of confidentiality
