Maintenance Team Lead & Field Service Engineer | Permanent | Northern Ireland / Border Counties | £37,000
This is a lead role in an energy services team that maintains industrial heating and combustion plant at client sites across Ireland.
Half the job is organising. The other half is getting your hands dirty. If you've spent years fixing kit and wondering why nobody plans the maintenance properly, this is your chance to fix that too.
You'll be the central point of contact for a team of Field Service Engineers. They'll come to you for their work, their priorities and their technical backup. You'll report into the team manager and work alongside a Project Engineer.
The business sits within a large, long-established group that is investing in growth, and this part of it is expanding. The maintenance function you build now is the one that scales with it.
What you'll be doing:
- Building and running the planned preventative maintenance schedule across every site
- Allocating engineers, contractors, spares and equipment for planned work, shutdowns and breakdowns
- Owning the CMMS: work orders, asset records, close outs and KPI reporting
- Managing critical spares, stock levels and supplier lead times
- Writing and reviewing RAMS and keeping safe systems of work current
- Getting out on site for servicing, fault finding, repairs and commissioning
- Supporting new engineers and spotting where the team needs training
What you'll bring: - An HND or a time served apprenticeship in mechanical or electrical engineering (an electrical bias helps)
- At least two years in industrial maintenance, ideally around process plant or industrial heating
- Strong fault finding across mechanical, electrical and control systems
- Experience planning or coordinating maintenance work and the people doing it
- Hands on CMMS experience and a decent grip of Excel
- A full driving licence and a willingness to travel
- Supervisory experience, IOSH or NEBOSH, and exposure to OEMs or statutory inspections would all be a bonus, but none of them are deal breakers.
You'll need to live around 45 minutes of the base, which takes in towns such as Omagh, Cavan, Clones, Ballyshannon and Dungannon.
The hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, with an on-call rota. A company vehicle is provided.
This suits an engineer who is already the person colleagues ring when something breaks, and who is ready for a role where they also decide what gets fixed, when, and by whom.
Don't tick every box? Apply anyway.
