Electrician (Manufacturing Maintenance) | Permanent | West Lothian | circa £40k

A precision engineered metal components manufacturer in West Lothian is looking for a time served Maintenance Electrician to join their engineering team on a permanent basis. This is a business that supplies complex, high specification parts to blue chip customers across demanding industries, and they need an electrician who can keep a busy, fast-moving plant running.
 

You will be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance across the site, including forging presses, furnaces, machine tools and electrical installations. It is a hands-on role where no two days look the same, and you will be trusted to diagnose faults quickly and get equipment back up and running with minimum disruption.
 

What you will be doing:

• Carrying out repairs and preventative maintenance to a high standard
• Fault finding using test equipment and hand tools
• Interpreting technical drawings and schematics
• Supporting the introduction of new or modified parts and equipment
• Undertaking statutory checks and maintaining safe systems of work
• Getting involved in continuous improvement, including Lean and TPM

 
What you will need:

• Time served Electrician, City & Guilds 2360 or equivalent, HNC level desirable
• Proven fault-finding background with the ability to read technical drawings
• Experience with medium voltage distribution systems
• Comfortable working at heights and in enclosed spaces
• Computer literate with strong communication skills

 
This role sits on a three-shift rotation covering 37 hours across Monday to Friday, with the site moving towards a continental shift pattern in the future, offering longer term earning potential. Starting salary is circa £40k inclusive of shift allowance.
