A manufacturing company in Tayside is hiring a Senior R&D Technician to join a small, specialist team. The role is hands-on and varied — you'll be working across materials processing, prototype assembly, and product evaluation, with real involvement in development projects from start to finish.
 
 
What you'll be doing
 

• Processing specialist materials and substrates using a range of specialist materials and compounds
• Supporting the build and teardown of prototype components
• Setting up and operating process, inspection, and measurement equipment
• Writing test procedures and reports, and presenting findings to internal stakeholders
• Monitoring project timelines and flagging risks early

 
 
What you'll need
 
Experience in a technical laboratory or clean room environment is essential. You should be comfortable working with specialist materials to tight tolerances, operating precision inspection equipment, and producing clear, accurate technical documentation.
 
A background in specialist electronic or electromechanical components would be advantageous, as would familiarity with environmental and dynamic testing methods.
 
Attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and confidence working with limited supervision are all important here.
