If you've got some purchasing or procurement experience under your belt and you're ready to do more than raise purchase orders, this could be the right next step.
 
Our client, a leading Dundee-based manufacturer, is looking for a Junior Buyer to join their procurement team. It's a broad role - you'll be managing supplier relationships, working with SAP and MRP systems, keeping material supply on track, and supporting cost reduction activity. Not just admin.
 
 
What you'll be doing

• Monitoring purchase orders, chasing suppliers, and keeping delivery schedules on track
• Reviewing MRP exceptions and working with production planners to resolve shortages
• Maintaining accurate purchasing data, lead times, and pricing in SAP
• Supporting supplier qualification, performance monitoring, and invoice resolution
• Generating procurement reports and keeping documentation up to date

 
What you'll need
 
Solid experience in a manufacturing environment is essential, as is working knowledge of SAP, specifically the MM (Materials Management) module. You should be comfortable with MRP processes and confident enough to manage supplier communications independently.
 
An ONC in Business Administration or Supply Chain Management is preferred, though equivalent experience will be considered.
 
Familiarity with mechanical component supply chains (machine shops, fabricators, plating suppliers) would be a bonus, as would exposure to ISO-certified environments.
