Welder | Livingston | Permanent | circa £40k
 
This role is based within a heavy engineering environment where welding is used to keep large industrial equipment running safely and reliably.
 
You'll be part of a skilled team carrying out repair welding, fabrication and maintenance work across plant, tooling and machinery.
 
 
What you'll be doing:
 

• Repair welding on large industrial equipment and components
• Fabrication work where required
• Responding to breakdowns and supporting maintenance teams
• Setting up and running Sub Arc welding equipment
• Working from drawings, procedures and weld specs
• Welding a mix of materials including stainless, high carbon steels and specialist alloys
• Inspecting your own work and maintaining high quality standards

 
This is hands-on work that requires skill, judgement and experience, not repetitive production welding.

• Skilled trades team who know their craft
• Varied workload. No two weeks look exactly the same

 
 
The hours are:
 
You will be working on a weekly rotation between Early, Back & Night Shifts.
 
Monday - Thursday:
 

• Early Shift 6am to 2.00pm
• Back Shift 2pm to 10.00pm
• Night Shift 10pm to 6.00am

 
Fridays:
 

• Early Shift 6am to 12.20pm
• Back Shift 12:20pm to 6.40pm
• Night Shift 6:40pm to 1am

 
 
You'll suit this if you are:
 

• A time-served welder with strong industrial welding background
• Comfortable working in heavy engineering or maintenance environments
• Experienced with Sub Arc welding (or similar processes)
• Able to work from engineering drawings
