Mechanical Design Engineer | Glasgow | Permanent | circa £40k+
 
Not every design role is genuinely "design".
 
Some are CAD maintenance.

Some are just drawing updates.

This isn't one of those.
 
Our client is an established, industry-leading manufacturer supplying some of the world's most recognisable brands across multiple sectors. They are building new products and need a Mechanical Design Engineer who enjoys solving practical problems and turning concepts into real, manufacturable equipment.
 
You'll be working across the full development cycle from early ideas through to detailed design and production-ready solutions.
 
 
What you'll actually be doing:
 

• Designing electro-mechanical products and mechanical systems
• Taking ideas from concept through prototype and into manufacture
• Working closely with electronics, software and wider engineering teams
• Creating 3D CAD models and detailed engineering drawings
• Testing, refining and improving designs based on real-world performance
• Liaising with suppliers and manufacturing partners

 
 
What they're looking for:

• Mechanical Design / Product Design Engineering background
• Around 5+ years commercial design experience
• Strong 3D CAD skills (Creo, SolidWorks or similar)
• Experience designing for manufacture
• Someone practical, curious and comfortable getting hands-on
