CNC Turner | Cumbernauld | Permanent | circa £36k
 
We are looking for an experienced CNC Turner to join a precision engineering team, working in a modern machine shop with a variety of materials and high-tolerance components.
 
 
The Role
 

• Operate 2-axis CNC lathes with Fanuc controls
• Read and interpret engineering drawings
• Create, read and understand ISO programs
• Apply knowledge of tooling and appropriate cutting conditions
• Manufacture components from composites to high-temperature alloys
• Work within a high precision, tight-tolerance environment
• Operate with minimum supervision

 
 
Hours
 
39 hours per week
 
Monday - Thursday: 08:00 - 17:00
Friday: 08:00 - 13:00
 
 
Requirements
 

• Previous experience working on 2-axis CNC lathes (Fanuc control preferred)
• Strong ability to read, interpret, and work from engineering drawings (e.g. ISO / technical drawings)
• Good understanding of tooling selection, cutting speeds, feeds and conditions appropriate to different materials
• Experience machining a range of materials—metals, composites, high temperature / exotic alloys
• Commitment to working to tight tolerances and high precision standards
