Project Manager (Heavy Fabrication) | Tyneside | Permanent | £50k - £65k (Dep. On Exp.)
 
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager for our client, a leading UK-based heavy engineering and maritime services provider, this organisation specialises in delivering sophisticated fabrication and infrastructure solutions across multiple sectors. The Project Manager will lead complex, high-value fabrication projects from start to finish. This is a 100% site-based role, working closely with skilled teams and acting as the primary interface with customers to ensure safe, high-quality, and on-time delivery.
 
You will take full ownership of multi-million-pound heavy fabrication projects, coordinating planners, engineers, production, and quality teams to meet strict deadlines and budget targets. With your exceptional organisational skills and eye for detail, you'll monitor progress, manage change control, and track performance metrics, ensuring that no aspect is overlooked.
 
A key part of your role will be building and maintaining outstanding customer relationships, instilling confidence through clear communication, proactive problem-solving, and consistent delivery against expectations. You will thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment where every day brings fresh challenges and opportunities.
 
What you'll bring:

• Proven experience managing heavy fabrication or large-scale engineering projects.
• Strong customer-facing skills with the ability to influence at senior levels.
• An engineering qualification (mechanical or similar) and recognised project management training (APM, PRINCE2, or equivalent).
• Solid understanding of project lifecycles, cost management, and earned value tracking.
• Proficiency in MS Project, Primavera, or similar tools.
