CNC Miller | Edinburgh | Permanent | £27k - £34k
 

Our client is a leading sub-contract manufacturer specialising in the production of machined components. With a diverse customer base spanning the Automotive, Aerospace, and Defence sectors across Europe and beyond, they are currently expanding their machining team due to increased workload.


As a CNC Miller, you will play a pivotal role in the machining team, working on two rotating shift patterns between Monday and Friday (hours are detailed below) – alternating between day shift and back shift. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting, programming, and operating both 3 and 5 axis Hurco machining centres.

Shifts (Rotating Weekly):
5-day day shift – Mon/Thu: 06:00 to 14:00 / Fri: 06:00 to 11:00
5-day back shift – Mon/Thu: 14:00 to 22:00 / Fri: 11:00 to 16:00
 

Responsibilities:

• Provide precision-engineered parts primarily for the aerospace industry.
• Undertake routine manufacture and participate in specialist projects.

To be successful, you should have:

• Experience with VMX30 2 Axis Milling and VMX30u & VMX30ui 5 Axis Milling machines.
• Proficiency in programming, setting, and operating CNC machines.
• Experience in a similar fast-paced environment handling one-off/small, medium, and large batch work.
• Ability to work to close tolerances of +/- 0.005mm.
• Comfortable working under tight deadlines.
• Strong mechanical engineering background in light to medium engineering.
• HyperMill experience would be advantageous.
