Grid Engineer – Renewable Energy (IPP Transition)
Most job ads for Grid Engineers read like they were written by someone who’s never seen a substation. This one won’t.
Our client is a fast-growing renewable energy business. Until recently, they were a project developer. Now they’re turning themselves into an Independent Power Producer. Which basically means they’re not just building projects anymore – they’ll be owning them, operating them, and making sure they actually earn money. And to do that, they need someone who actually knows how to get stuff connected to the grid without losing the will to live.
That’s where you come in.
You’ll be the one making sure solar, wind and battery projects don’t just look good in a pitch deck but actually plug into the network and start generating. That means handling grid applications, connection offers, system studies, and the kind of DNO/NGESO conversations most people would run a mile from. You’ll also be the person who can look at a connection agreement and say, “That’s not right, and here’s why.”
You’ll be involved across the whole project lifecycle – from early feasibility right through to construction and operation. Which means your work will actually matter. No one’s going to shove you in a corner with a spreadsheet and forget about you.
