Managing own work and ensuring adherence to project design specifications and timelines.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including mechanical designers, contractors, project managers, planners and procurement to develop project plans and budgets.
Conducting site assessments to assess the feasibility of solutions/options and gather technical requirements.
Overseeing the installation, testing and commissioning of mechanical systems designs, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Ensuring projects meet specifications, deadlines, and quality standards.
Broad technical knowledge and experience of mechanical engineering including civil and electrical interfaces.
Responsibilities shall include
Review and communicate design developments with the design contractor or supplier of equipment packages to ensure adherence to the required specifications. Follow company document management process to take a design document to IFC (issue for construction) and try to work with others to acquire RLM (red line markup) and IAB (issue as built)
Work with the site team in reviewing TQ and NCRs from queries raised on site to ensure feasibility (cost, quality and delivery time) for project requirements. Liaise closely with PMs and the procurement/commercial team to ensure solutions are implemented following the change management process.
Ensure technical residual risk from the Designers Risk Assessment (DRA) is considered throughout is continually reviewed with the assistance of lead process safety engineer and site HSE requirements.
Support completion engineers and site supervisors to assist in reviewing ITR (inspection test records) templates or questions may be raised on ITR or ITPs (inspection test plans).
Responsible to participate in periodical project risk reviews, planning and contribute towards project reporting.
Contribute to lessons learned portal and meetings.
Provide input to health and safety file.
Representing the company meetings with contractors and designers.
Useful Additional Skills In addition to the main duties, it would be beneficial if the Project Engineer has some or all of the following skills:
Knowledge of gas peaking plant construction
AutoCAD 2D, Navisworks
Appropriate SMSTS qualifications or CSCS card
Key Personal Characteristics
Attention to detail
Written and verbal communication
Able to build relationships with both office-based and site-based teams
Experience 5-10 years within a renewables, energy generation or comparable environment (gas peaking plants, energy storage, wind, solar) supporting construction projects. Location Statera Energy Ltd's Head Office, Victoria Street, London Qualifications
