ALS Food & Pharmaceutical operates a modern laboratory in Rydalmere – Sydney that is equipped with the latest in analytical technology. We are seeking an experienced and detailed-oriented Senior Quality Assurance Officer to join a team dedicated to exceeding both internal and external client expectations. This permanent position will be based at our Rydalmere office in Sydney, reporting to the National Quality Manager in Melbourne. With major facilities in Melbourne, Sydney, and Hamilton, ALS holds a leadership position in the pharmaceutical sector and maintains a strong presence in the Food sector.
The day to day
· Ensure adherence to local ISO 17025 certification and Pharmaceutical Inspection Convention (PIC/s).
· Monitor complaints and deviations identified to ensure they are investigated and resolved.
· Verify effective implementation of CAPAs.
· Approve changes that may impact the quality of the laboratory analysis and results.
· Coordinate and conducting client audits of the laboratories.
· Ensure continuous improvement of controlled documents (procedures, forms, logs and methods).
· Coordinate and conduct method internal audits at the Sydney site at a minimum.
· Maintain the equipment calibration and service schedule.
· Perform regular in-house equipment calibration and checks as required.
· Review and approve equipment qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ).
· Assist laboratory operations with the creation of fit for purpose documents
· Facilitate training of personnel to quality related procedures.
· Prepare and chair periodic quality meetings efficiently with Laboratory Managers (Chemistry and Microbiology) to ensure the continued implementation of the quality management system.

· A high level of computer literacy (training is provided for internal systems).
· Ability to work quickly and accurately with a high level of attention to detail.
· Ability to absorb and retain high levels of information.
· Excellent relationship building.
· Few years of experience in a compliance role.
· Scientific knowledge in Chemistry or related discipline.
· Strong knowledge of ISO 17025 and PIC/s Guidelines.
