The role
ALS Geochemistry requires a Maintenance Officer to join our facility in Malaga.
This Full-Time position would suit a person willing and able to turn their hand to perform routine preventative and reactive maintenance duties, such as small mechanical tasks, fabrication & general maintenance repairs found in a laboratory facility.
The successful applicant will be given on-the-job training in all aspects of routine maintenance of laboratory equipment to ensure they fully understand the task while also complying with ALS HSE policy.
A high level of communication will be required in this role, as the successful candidate must promptly liaise with section supervisors and facility management regarding equipment issues or downtime.
This role allows the employee to expand their skill base into maintaining and repairing all on-site equipment.
The essentials
- Trade qualifications are not necessary. However, previous experience with power tools & equipment on a professional or personal level is essential.
- Mechanical aptitude is essential.
- Welding & Fabrication is highly regarded.
- Carpentry skills will be highly regarded.
- Excellent work ethic.
- Committed to a safety culture while maximizing productivity.
- The ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision whilst being committed to the work of a team.
- Current driver’s license (C class) manual, and own transport to and from different sites in the Perth region.
- Proven ability to handle a busy and diverse workload.
