The role
Octief is seeking an experienced Asbestos/Hazmat Field Consultant to join our team in Yatala, Queensland. This is a full-time position that will involve conducting site inspections, sampling, and providing expert advice on the management of asbestos and other hazardous materials.
Day to Day
- Conducting asbestos and hazardous materials surveys and assessments for a range of commercial and industrial clients
- Collecting and analysing samples to identify the presence and condition of asbestos or other hazardous materials
- Providing detailed reports and recommendations for the safe management or removal of identified materials
- Advising clients on their legal obligations and best practices for asbestos and hazardous materials management
- Liaising with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and guidelines
- Maintaining detailed records and documentation to support the company's quality assurance processes
Essentials - Bachelor's degree in an environmental, scientific, or engineering-related field
- Minimum 5 years' experience as an asbestos/hazardous materials consultant or surveyor
- Thorough understanding of relevant legislation, regulations, and best practice guidelines
- Proven ability to conduct comprehensive site inspections and hazard assessments
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively liaise with clients and stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality, accurate reports
- Proficient in the use of relevant software and equipment for sampling and analysis
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to deliver project objectives
