The day to day
ALS Water operates several laboratories across Australia that are equipped with the latest in analytical technology.  An exciting opportunity is available in a new premise at Bendigo.

Currently seeking a Full-time Analyst to join our valued team. This role is ideal for someone prepared to learn from the ground up and develop their skills within the role. Training will be provided and would suit someone with a Laboratory background.
The Analyst is responsible for:

1. Perform basic chemistry analysis in accordance with QWI’s and ALS Quality systems
2. Perform microbiological analysis in accordance with QWI’s and ALS Quality systems
3. Data review and LIMS entry of analytical results
4. Perform required QA/QC tasks and maintenance of equipment used for conducting analysis.
5. Mandatory participation in week-end roster for analysis and the sampling on-call roster.

  
The Essentials

• Relevant tertiary qualification and/or experience working in an appropriate discipline (Chemistry or Microbiology or Biology).
• General computer literacy skills.
• Strong numerical skills.
• Good laboratory techniques.
• Maintain accurate data records and prepare analytical reports.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with other employees and with clients.
• Aptitude, experience and understanding of the requirements of a NATA certified laboratory.
• Ability to work independently or with limited supervision and to make decisions and apply professional knowledge and judgement to solve problems.
• Plan and prioritise tasks and perform these tasks efficiently
• Ability to work under pressure in a team environment.
