The role
ALS Geochemistry is looking for a Maintenance Assistant to maintain our equipment at our Orange site.
 
Working in a close-knit team, you will report to the Maintenance Coordinator and assist with routine maintenance, fixing equipment and attending to breakdowns as required.
 
This full-time role will be responsible for:

• Routine maintenance of all sample preparation equipment.
• Building and fabrication of laboratory equipment.
• Carrying out preventative maintenance.
• Maintaining equipment.

This is a residential role. To be considered, you must reside in or plan to relocate to Orange, NSW, and have current Australian work rights.
 
The Essentials

• Welding & mild steel experience highly regarded.
• Current Forklift licence (preferred).
• Current Working at Height ticket (preferred).
• Trade qualifications are not necessary. However, previous experience with power tools & equipment on a professional or personal level is essential.
• Mechanical aptitude is beneficial.
• Previous fault-finding and repair experience desired
• Excellent work ethic
• Committed to a safety culture while maximizing productivity
• The ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision whilst being committed to the work of a team
• Reliable, physically fit, and prepared for manual tasks.
• High level of communication
• The ability to handle a busy and diverse workload
