The Position
We’re offering an exciting full-time opportunity at our mine site laboratory in the North Bowen Basin. If you’re passionate about delivering exceptional results and thrive in a team-focused environment, we want to hear from you!
In this role, you’ll report to the Mine Site Supervisor and play a key part in ensuring quality, efficiency, client satisfaction, and productivity. Effective communication, attention to detail, and good organizational skills are essential. While prior industry experience is a plus, a valid driver’s license and the ability to work 12-hour shifts are required. This role operates on 7 days on 7 days off roster.
The day to day
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Collection of a range of production and train samples.
- Performing a range of preparation and analytical tests including proximate analysis, Total Sulphur and Calorific Value determinations.
- Ensuring that all work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner and to agreed standard operating instructions.
- Checking and validating all results to ensure that they are within repeatability tolerances.
- Maintaining laboratory equipment: XRF, Proximate Ovens/Furnaces, Leco Sulfur, Leco CV.
- Optimising turnaround time for samples whilst ensuring the highest quality of results is achieved and maintained.
- Ensuring Quality Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures are followed.
- Ensuring a high standard of housekeeping and presentation of all equipment and work areas.
