About the role
We are looking to secure the services of a Paralegal with contract reviewing experience, to support the Corporate Legal team across a range of commercial matters. You will collaborate with stakeholders across a broad spectrum of practice areas including but not limited to commercial and corporate, legal transformational projects, company secretarial, insurance & risk, intellectual property and commercial leasing.

About the opportunity
- Assist the legal team with processing leases, business name renewals, trademark renewals, subpoenas, non-party disclosures and requests from external authorities for documents/information.
- Assist the legal, compliance and insurance teams with legal research, drafting and other legal activities, including preparation of legal documents, gathering evidence and materials and assisting senior lawyers with creating training materials and other resources.
- Provide company secretarial and corporate governance support across the ALS Group. This includes, but is not limited to, the maintenance of corporate entity registers and the preparation of documentation for and assisting in the maintenance of corporate entities within the ALS Group.
- Provide general administrative support to the legal, compliance and insurance teams, when required, and respond to/refer general enquiries.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to team success by collaborating with other team members, sharing ideas and knowledge, and seeking to learn from team members.
- This position may be required to take on other responsibilities, commensurate with the expectations of a role at this level, which contribute to the overall objectives of the office of the General Counsel.

The ideal candidate will be able to work both as part of a team and with some autonomy, will have a strong attention to detail and the motivation to produce excellent work.
We are looking for the right individual but can be flexible as to where you are in your career, we can accommodate part-time work (such as 3 days equivalent over a 5-day week) or a full-time work. ALS offers flexible work arrangements, including a mix of in-office and remote working.
You will:
- Be down to earth, sociable, and willing to work in a team environment.
- Be motivated, curious, commercially minded and solutions driven.
- Hold an associate diploma level qualification with relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant skills, knowledge and experience (a minimum 1-2 years proven paralegal experience in similar roles).
- Have demonstrated experience reviewing and negotiating contracts (and other documents).
- Enjoy working as part of a collaborative team and have the ability to influence a variety of stakeholders.
- Have demonstrated ability to work autonomously when required.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills and a proactive, collaborative approach.
