About the Role
We are seeking skilled Ceiling Fixers/Carpenters to join our team at Blokhaus in Wellington. This role offers ongoing work across a range of residential and commercial projects. You will be part of a professional team delivering high-quality workmanship on site, with opportunities for consistent work and career growth.
What You'll Be Doing
• Installing plasterboard ceilings and wall linings on residential and commercial sites
• Setting out, framing, and fixing ceiling systems to specification
• Installing bulkheads, suspended ceilings, and feature ceilings
• Stopping, patching, and preparing surfaces where required
• Reading and interpreting plans, drawings, and site layouts
• Carrying out general carpentry duties as required on site
• Operating hand and power tools safely and efficiently
• Working alongside site managers and other trades to meet deadlines
• Following all health and safety requirements on site
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and professional work environment
What We’re Looking For
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a ceiling fixer and/or carpenter
• Solid experience with plasterboard, ceiling systems, and fix-outs
• Strong general carpentry skills and site knowledge
• Confidence using hand and power tools
• High attention to detail and pride in workmanship
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Strong understanding of workplace health and safety
• Reliable, punctual, and professional work ethic
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport preferred
