About the Role
  
We are seeking an experienced Digger Driver to join our team in Taupo. This role involves operating excavators on residential, commercial, and civil construction sites. You’ll be a key member of the crew, ensuring earthworks, trenching, and site preparation tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
 
What You'll Be Doing

• Operating excavators for trenching, footing digs, backfilling, bulk earthworks, and general site prep
• Reading and interpreting site plans and levels
• Loading trucks, moving materials, and assisting with groundworks
• Digging around services with accuracy and care
• Daily machine checks and basic maintenance
• Assisting the site team when required to support smooth project delivery
• Following all health and safety procedures to ensure a safe work site

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 2–3 years' experience operating diggers/excavators
• Confident operating a range of machine sizes (1.7T–20T preferred)
• Ability to read plans, levels, and understand site requirements
• Experience in civil construction, drainage, or earthworks (preferred but not essential)
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
• WTR endorsements and Class 1 licence (Class 2 an advantage)
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
