About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Metal Fabricator/Welder to join our team in Wanaka. This role involves working on a variety of residential, commercial, and industrial projects. You’ll be a key part of our skilled fabrication team, contributing to the production, installation, and maintenance of heavy steel structures and components.

What You'll Be Doing

• Reading and interpreting drawings, plans, and welding/fabrication specifications
• Cutting, shaping, and fabricating heavy steel components using hand tools, power tools, and workshop machinery
• Performing MIG, TIG, and/or ARC welding to industry standards
• Assembling, installing, and repairing heavy metal structures, frames, beams, and custom components
• Operating workshop equipment such as grinders, drill presses, folding machines, and welders
• Working alongside other trades to ensure smooth project delivery
• Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe work environment while following all health and safety protocols

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 3 years of fabrication/welding experience (qualification preferred but not essential)
• Strong proficiency in MIG/TIG/ARC welding and structural steel fabrication
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and fabrication plans
• Experience working with heavy steel, structural components, and custom fabrication
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport
