About the Role:
We are looking for a reliable and versatile construction technician to join our team in Otago. This full-time position involves working across construction sites, manufacturing facilities, and warehouse environments. You’ll be supporting a wide range of tasks including construction labouring, material handling, manufacturing of construction products, basic carpentry, painting, and scaffolding setup. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, safety-focused, and eager to grow within a dynamic work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with on-site construction and general labouring work
• Manufacture and assemble construction materials (e.g., frames, ducting, or components)
• Operate tools and machinery used in manufacturing and construction
• Pick, pack, and prepare construction materials in the warehouse
• Transport and distribute materials between warehouse, manufacturing, and job sites
• Support carpenters with cutting, framing, and installations
• Perform surface preparation and painting tasks (brushing, rolling, spraying)
• Assist in erecting and dismantling scaffolding under supervision
• Maintain clean, safe, and organised workspaces across all sites
• Follow instructions from Supervisors, Site Managers, and Production Leads
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations

Requirements:

• At least 2 years’ experience in construction, manufacturing, or related trades
• Physically fit and capable of manual work and heavy lifting
• Familiarity with carpentry tools and techniques
• Basic painting and surface prep experience
• Comfortable working at heights and in industrial environments
• Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Reliable transport to and from work
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test
• Site Safe or ConstructSafe (preferred)
• Forklift licence or willingness to obtain one (advantageous)
