Role Overview
Blokhaus is searching for an experienced Architectural Builder to join our Christchurch team. You’ll take pride in precision craftsmanship, working on architecturally driven residential and commercial projects, transforming high-design blueprints into beautifully executed structures.
  
What You'll Be Doing

• Blueprint mastery: Interpret architectural drawings, details, and specs to understand design intent and construction sequencing.
• Precision carpentry: Measure, cut, assemble, and install complex timber elements—custom mouldings, feature walls, vaulted ceilings, built-in joinery, and premium fixture fittings.
• Architectural finishes: Install high-end doors, windows, cabinetry, and intricate trim to exacting quality standards.
• Collaboration & coordination: Work alongside architects, designers, engineers, and sub-trades to ensure all design and structural requirements are met seamlessly.
• Structural tasks: Construct walls, stairs, frames, ceilings, and roofing components with an eye for architectural detail and structural integrity.
• Repairs & enhancements: Repair, restore or retrofit existing architectural features to maintain design continuity.
• Safety & quality control: Keep workspaces safe, tidy, and compliant with NZ health and safety regulations and quality benchmarks.

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in architectural building, joinery, or high-end finishes. Formal qualifications are a bonus—but your skillset must align with trade-level excellence.
• Proficient with hand and power tools tailored for detailed carpentry work.
• Demonstrated track record in executing precision architectural elements within residential and/or commercial builds.
• Confidence in interpreting and executing complex plans and architectural drawings.
• High attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and pride in top-tier workmanship.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills; able to work independently when required.
• Valid New Zealand driver’s licence and reliable transport.
• Professionalism, diligence, and a commitment to premium builds and client satisfaction.
