About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Welder to join our team at Blokhaus in Christchurch, Canterbury. This role involves working on a variety of welding projects, including fabrication, repairs, and structural welding. You will be responsible for ensuring strong, precise welds and contributing to high-quality metalwork. This is a great opportunity for a motivated professional to work in a dynamic team environment.

What You'll Be Doing

• Welding and fabricating structural steel, stainless steel, and aluminum components
• Reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
• Performing MIG, TIG, and ARC welding as required for different projects
• Conducting repairs and modifications on metal structures and machinery
• Operating various welding and metalworking tools safely and efficiently
• Ensuring all work meets safety standards and industry regulations
• Collaborating with other trades, including engineers and site managers, to complete projects on time

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 3 years of welding experience in structural or general fabrication
• Fitter Turner Qualification (Preferred)
• Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and ARC welding techniques
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Experience with a variety of metals, including stainless steel and aluminum
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transport
