About the Role We’re looking for a skilled Workshop Mechanic to join our team, working on road transport vehicles and light automotive repairs.

• This is a workshop-based role, but about 50% of the time will involve on-site work.
• You will be responsible for pre-COF, servicing, tyre fitting, and general mechanical repairs to keep vehicles safe, compliant, and operational.
• Work on a variety of fleet vehicles, including trucks, trailers, utes, and material-handling equipment.

If you have experience in heavy transport or light automotive repairs, this role offers plenty of variety, hands-on work, and room to grow.
Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on road transport vehicles and light automotive.
• Complete pre-COF inspections to meet NZTA compliance standards.
• Perform tyre fitting, balancing, and repairs as needed.
• Diagnose and repair brakes, suspension, steering, and drivetrain components.
• Conduct preventative maintenance to reduce vehicle downtime.
• Carry out on-site servicing and repairs for material handling and container handling equipment.
• Assist with breakdowns and field repairs when required.
• Maintain accurate job records and documentation.
• Ensure health & safety protocols are always followed.
• Provide mentorship and training to younger staff.
• Perform WOF inspections (if certified).
• Participate in on-call rotations for urgent service needs.

What We’re Looking For:

• Trade-certified mechanic (Automotive, Heavy Diesel, or a related field).
• Experience with forklifts, straddles, material handling, or transport equipment is an advantage.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload efficiently.
• Task-oriented, adaptable, and able to work well under pressure.
• Strong commitment to safety and compliance.
• Class 2, 4, 5 licenses with W, T, R, F endorsements (preferred but not essential).
• Certifications such as Working at Heights, EWP, and Forklift OSH are advantageous.
• Physically fit for a hands-on, demanding role.
