Quantity Surveyor - Brickwork Packages
Location: Maidstone, Kent
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum (depending on experience)
 
Hill McGlynn is working in partnership with a well-established and respected bricklaying subcontractor to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team based in Maidstone.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in brickwork packages to join a successful subcontractor delivering high-quality residential and commercial projects across the South East.
 
The Role
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial management of multiple brickwork packages from pre-construction through to final account. Working closely with the operational and commercial teams, you will ensure projects are delivered profitably while maintaining strong client relationships.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Managing the commercial aspects of brickwork packages from inception to completion.
• Preparing valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts.
• Measuring works and preparing cost reports.
• Managing subcontractor accounts and procurement where required.
• Identifying, pricing, and negotiating variations.
• Monitoring project costs and forecasting financial performance.
• Liaising with site teams, clients, and suppliers to ensure commercial objectives are achieved.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
• Essential experience managing bricklaying/brickwork packages.
• Strong understanding of subcontractor commercial management.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Full UK driving licence.
