Quantity Surveyor - Fit Out (Retail Focus)
Location: Whitstable
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 + Package
 
Hill McGlynn is proud to be working in partnership with a well-established and growing fit out contractor to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team based in Whitstable.
 
This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic business delivering high-quality fit out projects across the retail sector. The successful candidate will play a key role in the commercial management of projects from pre-construction through to final account.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Managing all aspects of the commercial lifecycle of fit out projects
• Preparing cost estimates, budgets, and tender submissions
• Procurement of subcontractors and suppliers
• Monitoring project costs, variations, and cash flow
• Conducting valuations and agreeing final accounts
• Working closely with project managers and site teams to ensure financial efficiency
• Maintaining strong client relationships

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the fit out sector
• Strong background in retail fit out projects (highly desirable)
• Good understanding of commercial processes and contract administration
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Relevant construction qualification (preferred but not essential with strong experience)
