When things get busy, you step up….
Payroll, onboarding, HR systems - you don’t drop balls. You catch them.
And you do it without making a fuss, no drama
And you take real pride in that.
Does this sound like you? Listen on…
I have an HR Assistant opportunity within a leading Lloyd’s Broker, currently in growth phase
The business is expanding into new classes of business aligned to its niche. Headcount in London is already 125 and rising. Growth is ongoing and deliberate, which means the HR function is busy.
Very busy.
The current HR Assistant is going on maternity leave in June. The team would like as long a handover as possible to ensure continuity and stability during a significant period of growth. Someone available at relatively short notice would therefore be highly valued.
This is an 18-month contract initially.
The brief is clear: keep the engine running smoothly.
You would take ownership of:
- Payroll processing and coordination
- HR system administration and data accuracy
- Onboarding and offboarding
- Probation tracking and qualification monitoring
- Maintaining employee records
- General HR administration across the full employee lifecycle
This role requires someone who can step in confidently.
Not someone who needs months of training.
Experience as an HR Assistant is essential. Payroll coordination experience is essential.
You do not need experience with their specific systems, but you must be comfortable learning quickly and working with precision.
Just as important as experience, is how you operate.
They are looking for someone:
- Super organised
- Initiative led and dependable
- Approachable and helpful
- Calm under pressure
- Proactive in suggesting efficiencies and better ways of working
- Positive in energy and professional in approach
This is a people-first culture, but standards are high. Accuracy matters. Responsiveness matters. Accountability matters.
There is strong potential for the role to become permanent if growth continues.
Over time, there may also be scope to develop into more advisory responsibilities and to be supported through further HR qualifications.
Salary is between £40,000 and £45,000 depending on experience
Benefits include:
- Hybrid working – minimum 3 days in the office (London), 2 from home
- 25 days holiday increasing to 30, plus buy and sell options
- 9 additional flex days
- Great pension and discretionary bonus
- Private medical and health cash plan
- Life assurance at 7.5x salary and income protection
- Enhanced family leave and wellbeing support
This is a role for someone who takes pride in being organised, accurate, dependable and a genuinely positive presence in a busy team.
