We are seeking up to 1 Residential Advisors (RA’s) to join the team at University of Sydney - The Regiment
Residential Advisor – The Role: In the role of Residential Advisor, you will showcase your leadership skills by being the first point of contact for University of Sydney - The Regiment residents. You will offer assistance to your fellow peers by sharing information, overseeing and escalating residential welfare matters and facilitating the ultimate community experience.
In addition to this, you will have the opportunity to organise exciting in-house events, creating an engaging atmosphere for students.
Some of your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Assist the Residential Life team with grievances and or matters requiring conflict resolution
- Organise and coordinate in-house events for residents to foster student engagement and a vibrant atmosphere
- Ensure that all common areas are locked and secure at the applicable times
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness & tidiness within the property
- Provide after hours on-call assistance to fellow residents
- Contact the on-call manager in the event that an accident or situation requires escalation
- Maintain a full and comprehensive log of activity and callouts during your shift
What We Need From You:
Some of your essential skills will include strong written and verbal communication, a high level of empathy and cultural awareness, and effective problem solving skills. For this role, you will must:
- A resident at University of Sydney - The Regiment whose residence agreement concludes not before February 2026.
- Have been a resident at University of Sydney - The Regimentfor 3 months or more.
- A demonstrated capacity for leadership and maturity
- High level of creativity and organisational skills to manage events.
- Must have flexible availability to meet the training and rostering requirements, including during weekends.
Preferably you will have completed 12 months of tertiary study and have spent at least four months living at University of Sydney - The Regiment - but we do still welcome your application if you don't meet all of these criteria.
