Process Engineer – Water & Wastewater

Salary: Up to £55,000 + Package
A leading specialist in water and wastewater solutions is looking to appoint a Process Engineer to join its growing UK team based in Alton, Hampshire.
The successful candidate will join an established business delivering innovative water and wastewater treatment solutions across the UK. The role will provide the opportunity to work across a varied portfolio of projects, supporting process design, technical development, project delivery and client-facing activities.

The Role
Reporting to the UK Technical Manager, the Process Engineer will provide process engineering expertise and technical support across a range of water and wastewater projects.
The role will involve a combination of office-based design and technical work, hybrid working and visits to client and project sites. There will also be opportunities to become involved in project meetings, commissioning activities, design reviews and technical discussions with clients and project teams.

Key responsibilities will include:
• Developing and supporting process designs for water and wastewater treatment projects.
• Providing technical input into the development and specification of new solutions and technologies.
• Preparing process documentation and technical reports from concept through to project completion.
• Supporting project teams with process engineering and technical requirements.
• Attending design review meetings and working closely with project managers and engineers to ensure designs meet project specifications.
• Supporting process proving, commissioning and project delivery activities.
• Visiting client and project sites to gather information, support project teams and understand project requirements.
• Reviewing tender and technical documentation and contributing to technical proposals.
• Preparing technical sections of tenders and client submissions.
• Assessing third-party technologies and identifying opportunities for process improvements and innovation.
• Researching technical developments and market opportunities within the water and wastewater sector.
• Providing technical support to business development and project teams.
• Assisting with project proposals, pricing and handovers where required.
• Producing technical reports and case studies relating to completed projects.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues across process, mechanical, electrical and project engineering disciplines.
About the Candidate
The role would suit a Process Engineer or technically minded Engineer with experience in the water, wastewater, utilities or wider M&E environment.
Candidates are likely to have:
• An engineering or science degree, HND or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in process engineering, project engineering, technical support, applications engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience within the UK water or wastewater industry would be highly advantageous.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to work across multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Good technical report-writing and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and an organised approach to project work.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to analyse and present technical data.
• The confidence to communicate with clients, project teams and other technical stakeholders.
• A willingness to travel to project and client sites across the UK, including occasional overnight stays.
• A full UK driving licence.
