Landmark Group is a leading Australian property developer and builder with over 25 years of experience delivering high-quality residential and mixed-use projects across NSW. With a strong pipeline of high-rise developments and a team of over 70 industry professionals, Landmark is known for its commitment to quality, integrity, and people-first values.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Sub-Foreman to join our Construction team and support the delivery of Landmark’s live residential projects.
Reporting to the Site Manager and working closely with the Foreman, this role plays a key on-site leadership function, supervising allocated work fronts, coordinating trades and labour, and ensuring works are delivered safely, to specification, and in line with the construction programme.
This position is primarily supervisory, with limited time on the tools, and is a clear development pathway to a Foreman role.
About the Role
As the Sub-Foreman, you will act as the Foreman’s second-in-charge, providing leadership across multiple crews and Leading Hands. You will help maintain site momentum, manage short-term planning, uphold quality standards, and promote a strong safety-first culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily construction activities across allocated work fronts
- Coordinate Leading Hands, trades, subcontractors, and labour
- Ensure works are sequenced correctly and delivered in line with the construction programme
- Support daily and weekly planning, including short-term look-ahead programs
- Monitor progress, identify delays or clashes, and assist with resolving issues
- Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and site compliance
- Carry out quality checks, identify defects early, and oversee rectification
- Deliver pre-starts and toolbox talks and enforce WHS requirements
- Communicate site priorities and progress to the Foreman and Site Manager
- Step into the Foreman role during absences when required
What We’re Looking For Essential - Trade qualification (Carpentry or relevant construction trade)
- Demonstrated experience in a supervisory role (Leading Hand or similar)
- Experience on commercial or high-rise residential construction sites
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing and methodologies
- Computer-literate (MS Word, Project, Excel, Outlook)
- Working knowledge of the BCA, WHS legislation, and Codes of Practice
Desirable - Certificate IV in Building & Construction (or working towards)
- Experience with a Tier 2 developer-builder
- Exposure to digital site systems such as Procore
