Job Title: Sample Preparation Operator
Location: Khoemacau, Botswana
Reporting To: Laboratory Manager
 
About the Role
We are looking for a Sample Preparation Operator to join our laboratory team in Khoemacau, Botswana. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing samples and operating laboratory preparation equipment to ensure accurate and efficient processing.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Perform sample preparation in accordance with laboratory procedures and training.
• Operate sample preparation equipment safely and efficiently.
• Receive and log samples into the laboratory LIMS system.
• Sort samples according to client submission forms and report discrepancies.
• Capture sample weights and maintain accurate records.
• Load and unload samples from ovens as required.
• Organize workload to meet daily production targets and turnaround times.
• Conduct stock takes and maintain minimum stock levels within the section.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laboratory in line with housekeeping procedures.
• Report any issues related to quality, safety, production, equipment, or samples to the Laboratory Manager.

Compliance & Quality

• Follow all Quality System Procedures.
• Ensure work meets ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 17025:2017 standards.
• Comply with all relevant legislative and company requirements.

Health, Safety & Environment

• Adhere to all Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Previous laboratory or sample preparation experience is advantageous.
• Ability to operate equipment safely and follow technical procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
• Team-oriented with good communication skills.
