About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation Manager to lead and manage the Spectroscopy section within a high-throughput geochemical laboratory environment.

This role is critical to ensuring operational excellence, compliance, turnaround time performance, and the effective management of people, processes, and equipment.

The successful candidate will be a strong technical leader with proven operations management experience in a multinational laboratory, mining, or geochemical testing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Overall responsibility for HSE, Quality Control, and HR compliance within the section
• Plan, organize, and manage daily workloads in line with production statistics and turnaround requirements
• Ensure accurate maintenance of production logs, work orders, calibration, and training records
• Oversee equipment maintenance, repairs, and calibration scheduling
• Manage stock control, consumables ordering, and minimum stock levels
• Lead staff scheduling, timesheets, disciplinary processes, and performance management
• Plan optimal staffing levels based on work demand
• Supervise weighing and digestion activities and ensure procedural compliance
• Investigate QC deviations, turnaround time issues, and client queries
• Contribute to method development, validation, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Maintain effective communication with Laboratory Management on operational and personnel matters
• Attend and actively participate in technical and production meetings
• Act as backup to the Laboratory Manager and Production Coordinator when required

Minimum Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Chemistry, Science, Geology, Engineering, or a related discipline
• Minimum 10 years’ operations management experience within a geochemical testing, mining, or exploration laboratory environment
• Strong technical knowledge of geochemical analytical techniques
• Fluent in English and French (written and verbal – mandatory)
• Proven experience managing teams in a multicultural, high-pressure environment
• Ability to travel when required
