We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Hub Laboratory Manager to join our Johannesburg team. This role is pivotal in ensuring smooth laboratory operations, maintaining quality standards, and delivering exceptional client service.
Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the Johannesburg Geochemistry Laboratory.
• Ensure compliance with ALS Health, Safety & Environmental standards, ISO17025 quality systems, and local legislation.
• Lead, mentor, and develop departmental managers and technical staff.
• Drive efficiency and quality by meeting defined KPIs (turnaround time, accuracy, productivity).
• Maintain ISO accreditation and quality control programs.
• Manage client relations, addressing queries and ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Forecast workflow, prepare budgets, and monitor financial performance.
• Identify and mitigate operational risks while ensuring safety and compliance.

• Always abide by local legislative requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum Diploma or Degree in Chemistry/Science (or equivalent).
• At least 10 years' laboratory management experience in a multinational geochemical testing or mining/exploration environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of geochemical analytical techniques.
• Proven leadership and people management experience.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and client relationship-building skills.
• Commercial acumen with strong fiscal and analytical skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, multi-task, and meet tight deadlines.
• Willingness to travel when required.
