Summary
 
The Construction Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for construction projects by analyzing drawings, technical specifications, and contract documents. This role works closely with engineering, procurement, and project management teams to ensure budgets align with project scope and company objectives.
The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of construction processes, and the ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously.
 
Responsibilities

• Review and analyze blueprints, specifications, and contract documents to prepare detailed cost estimates.
• Develop preliminary and final budgets for proposals and bid submissions.
• Solicit, review, and analyze quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Perform quantity take-offs and material cost analysis.
• Identify project risks and provide value engineering alternatives when applicable.
• Collaborate with project management during project handoff from estimating to execution.
• Maintain updated cost databases and historical pricing records.
• Assist in preparing technical and commercial proposals.
• Participate in preconstruction meetings and scope reviews.
   

Qualifications 

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 3-6 years of experience in construction estimating.
•  Experience preparing bids, cost analysis, and project budgets.
•  Strong knowledge of construction methods and ability to read technical drawings.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced level preferred).
• Experience with Planswift.
• Knowledge of unit cost analysis and pricing strategies.
• Familiarity with construction contracts and documentation.
