We are seeking an experienced Vertical Transportation Team Leader to head up our growing Vertical Transportation (VT) team in Brisbane.
This is a senior leadership role for a passionate engineer who wants to deliver high-quality lift, escalator, and moving walkway solutions on some of South East Queensland’s most exciting commercial, residential, healthcare, and mixed-use developments.
About the Role
As Team Leader, you will drive the technical excellence and commercial success of the Vertical Transportation discipline. You’ll manage a team of engineers and designers while playing a hands-on role in major projects from concept design through to construction and handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of Vertical Transportation Engineers and Designers
- Oversee the design and specification of lifts, escalators, and vertical transportation systems
- Ensure compliance with relevant Australian Standards (AS 1735 series), NCC, and international best practices
- Manage client relationships, stakeholder engagement, and project deliverables
- Prepare technical reports, tender documentation, and performance specifications
- Conduct traffic analysis, system selection, and value engineering
- Support business development activities and contribute to winning new work
- Drive innovation in sustainable and smart vertical transportation solutions
- Collaborate closely with MEP, fire, structural, and architectural teams using BIM/Revit workflows
What You’ll Bring - Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline)
- 8+ years’ experience in Vertical Transportation / Lift Engineering within the Australian building services industry
- Proven leadership experience managing a team of engineers
- Strong technical knowledge of lift traffic analysis, system design, and performance specifications
- Experience with major projects (high-rise, hospitals, airports, or large-scale developments)
- Proficiency in design software, including Revit MEP, AutoCAD, and specialist VT tools
- Excellent communication, client management, and commercial acumen
- CPEng or eligibility for chartered status is highly regarded
