Your Impact
As Philanthropy Manager, you’ll lead the growth of Catherine Hamlin Fistula Foundation’s philanthropy program, with a focus on major donors, trusts and foundations, Gifts in Wills and strategic donor stewardship.
You’ll build and deepen relationships with high-value supporters, developing tailored strategies that increase philanthropic investment in Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia’s mission.
The Role
Reporting to the Global Head of Fundraising, Marketing and Communications, you will:
- Manage and grow a portfolio of major donor prospects and supporters
- Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward high-net-worth individuals
- Develop relationships with trusts and foundations and prepare proposals and reports
- Lead the growth and stewardship of the Gifts in Wills program
- Develop tailored donor engagement and stewardship strategies
- Maintain donor pipelines, CRM records and philanthropy forecasts
- Prepare reporting for senior management and the Board
- Contribute to philanthropy strategy across Australia, New Zealand and future international markets
This is a hands-on role requiring strong relationship management, strategic thinking and the confidence to secure significant philanthropic investment.
The Organisation Catherine Hamlin Fistula Foundation (CHFF) supports Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia, providing life-changing treatment to women affected by obstetric fistula — a devastating childbirth injury that can leave women incontinent and facing stigma, isolation and loss of dignity.
Founded by Australian doctors Catherine and Reg Hamlin, Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia treats and prevents fistula through specialist care, education and midwifery training.
Based at CHFF’s Pyrmont headquarters, you’ll help grow the philanthropic support that makes this work possible.

What You Bring You’ll be a confident relationship builder who combines strategic thinking with the ability to personally cultivate and secure high-value philanthropic support.
You bring significant philanthropy and major gifts experience, alongside:
- Demonstrated success securing high-value philanthropic support
- Strong major donor, trust and foundation relationship management skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong proposal writing and donor stewardship capability
- Experience with CRM, donor pipelines and fundraising reporting
- Strategic thinking and the ability to develop and execute philanthropy plans
