The Semiconductor Tool Install Electrical CAD Designer serves as the Architectural and Engineering firm representative supporting electrical design coordination and technical execution for tool installation scopes within semiconductor manufacturing environments. This role focuses on developing detailed electrical design packages, validating technical requirements, and ensuring designs align with project specifications, code compliance, and installation needs. The Electrical CAD Designer works closely with engineering teams, project stakeholders, and multidisciplinary design groups to deliver accurate, coordinated, and constructible electrical systems that support successful project delivery.
Minimum Qualifications: - High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in engineering or architectural fields preferred
- Proficiency with AutoCAD required
- Experience with Revit, ETAP, SKM PowerTools, EasyPower, or similar platforms preferred
- Knowledge of electrical codes and standards including NEC, NFPA, and related regulations
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience in semiconductor tool install, semiconductor, cleanroom, or industrial project environments
Duties and Responsibilities: - Represent the Engineer of Record and design team on semiconductor tool installation scopes
- Develop technical plans, specifications, drawings, and models aligned with project and client requirements
- Perform conduit, conductor, and wire sizing based on system loads and environmental conditions
- Evaluate cable tray layouts and fill capacity for proper routing and scalability
- Perform short circuit calculations to determine fault currents and specify protective devices
- Perform voltage drop calculations to ensure system performance and compliance with standards
- Ensure all electrical designs comply with applicable local, state, and national codes
- Apply established design practices and exercise judgment to refine and adapt electrical design concepts
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to resolve technical challenges
- Coordinate across Mechanical, Structural, Process/Chemical, and Architectural disciplines for integrated designs
