Seeking an individual to Lead the design management of a large hyperscale data center campus in Cedar Rapids, IA
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in commercial construction, with a focus on mission-critical or data center projects.
• Proven experience managing design processes across multiple disciplines (MEP, architectural, civil).
• Strong understanding of construction delivery methods including Lump Sum, CM@Risk, and Design-Build.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, especially for executive-level reporting.
• Per diem or travel arrangement is offered, for non-local candidates
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead the design management of a large hyperscale data center campus, ensuring alignment with project goals, timelines, and budgets.
• Facilitate project meetings with design, construction and commissioning firms
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive campus master design plan, including phased development strategies.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, design consultants, and construction teams to ensure cohesive and
efficient design execution.
• Manage design input for permitting and entitlement processes.
• Prepare and present monthly design and development updates suitable for executive-level review.
• Write scopes of work for design, construction, and commissioning services; support procurement and cost
evaluation efforts.
• Oversee design schedules and ensure timely delivery of design milestones.
• Review contractor submittals and change order requests for design compliance and cost impact.
• Collaborate with internal teams to support client-specific design solutions and custom deployments.
• Represent the company in OAC (Owner-Architect-Contractor) meetings and maintain strong relationships with
project stakeholders.
• Support due diligence efforts for future site development as needed.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal project management processes and tools.
