The QA/QC Associate is responsible for executing the client's Quality Control (QC) Program across various Data Hall Fit-Out projects.
The QA/QC Associate is responsible for executing the client’s Quality Control (QC) Program across various Data Hall Fit-Out projects. These projects involve MEP scope, primarily from LV Switchboards to data hall busways. The selected candidate will oversee quality assurance processes, documentation, inspections, and coordination with subcontractors and internal teams.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, or similar field, or equivalent experience
• Experience with QA/QC processes in construction or MEP-focused projects.
• Familiarity with software platforms such as Procore and Cx Alloy.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage documentation and inspection workflows.
• Willingness to work onsite full-time.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
The QA/QC Associate Role is a full-time onsite role (40-50 hours a week) that will be responsible for executing the General Contractor’s QC Program for various Data Hall Fit-out projects for the client. The fit out projects are for various data halls with isolated scope when it comes to MEP equipment (LV Switchboard downstream to data hall busways.)
The selected candidate will manage and execute the following tasks:
• Perform Prep/Preconstruction and Initial Phase Meetings with our subcontractors. These meeting agendas will be created using the Procore software platform
• Review all QC document deliverables from L1-L3 in the Cx Alloy software platform
• Assist the MEP team with L2 equipment inspections (clean walks)
• Issue Management- Record issues in Cx Alloy and ensure all issues are closed out by our subs/vendors in a timely manner.
• Set up the project in Cx Alloy as needed- work with onsite MEP add checklist templates and have the subs add all their assets to the Program specific spreadsheet template. Then import into Cx Alloy. The selected candidate will be trained to perform this task if needed.
• Create Feature of Work (FOW) Matrix based on work schedule. Note: A FOW is a project activity or a specification section.
• Prepare documents in Procore for Preparatory Phase and Initial Phase meetings (review submittal register- AAN comments, JHA’s, FOW schedule and specification review)
• Schedule and perform the Prep Meetings with our subs and invite all stakeholders. Add meeting notes to Procore and send them to attendees.
• Schedule and execute the Initial Phase and fill out the checklist provided in Procore.
• If necessary, perform receiving inspection with site superintendent and ensure that the sub provides all required paperwork and fills out the Cx Alloy equipment receiving checklists.
• Review benchmarks and First of Kind (FOK) inspections and perform set-in-place inspections whether during the initial phase or soon after. Provide 1 weeks’ notice to the client at a minimum.
• Inspection Phase- Confirm that the Installing Contractor fills out all the required L2 inspection checklists in Cx Alloy and track all inspection/test documentation and deliverables. These documented deliverables include (at
minimum):
o Pre-startup Reports
o NETA Test Reports
o Torque/Megger Sheets
o Short Circuit Coordination/Arc Flash Study
o Hydrostatic Test Reports (Mechanical)
o Flushing Reports (Mechanical)
o Point to Point
• Ensure all L3 documentation (Start Up Reports) are provided
• Assist MEP team with final L2/L3 document review and confirm completion and accuracy prior to L4 Commissioning.
• Perform L2 HITT Pre-Energization Inspection and/or clean walks on equipment with the MEP team as needed.
• Ensure all required labeling including Arc Flash Labels are placed prior to energization.
• Perform routine examination and checks of the ongoing work and equipment placement to ensure quality installation. If necessary, record any issues in Cx Alloy.
• Ensure that we are maintaining proper levels of protection during construction for equipment and systems.
• Ensure that all open issues are properly routed to their respective assignees so that they can work to resolve the issues.
• Address all issues in a timely manner. Allow 48 hours for closure. If past 48 hours provide justification along with a new due date every week thereafter until item is closed. Do NOT leave any open lingering issues.
• Manage the Punch List Process with onsite team and perform weekly (or bi-weekly) status meetings with subs to resolve open items.
• Physically confirm that all punch list items are corrected on the field.
• Perform site walkthroughs at least 2 times a day and add any QC observations in the Cx Alloy issues tool. Lead/Manage all supers on the field to do the same.
• OFCI Equipment QC Checks: If necessary, the QA/QC Associate will assist the HITT site ops/ops teams with managing OFCI equipment. The selected candidate will need to perform these duties:
• Ensure POC for onsite equipment delivery contact info is up to date.
• Ensure the site address for receiving equipment is correct.
• Ensure equipment vendor has contacted site POC 2 weeks out and again 48 hours from date of shipment.
• Notify Project Management/Senior Superintendent and OFCI Manager of equipment deliveries.
