Finance Administrator & Board Secretary
TE ARONGA: (Definition)
This role is an integral function of Te Arawa Whānau Ora and is responsible for the the day-to-day book-keeping and analysis of the organisation and board secretarial while providing support to the Group Manager of finance and the team.
Responsible to:
Kaiaronui-ā-Te Ikaroa Group Manager Finance
Key Responsibilities:
Best Practice
· Provide best practice finance support to the organisation.

· Develop and maintain productive and trustful relationships with partners, vendors, suppliers, kaimahi and other stakeholders.

Quality Improvement
· Identify applicable business systems and provide solutions for improvement.
Systems
· Provide accurate and efficient processing of accounts receivable and payables.
· Provide accurate and efficient processing of payroll.
Recordkeeping
· Maintain financial records and staff and board of trustee records pertaining to payroll
Monitoring
· Assist with analysing expenditure for the purpose of cost effectiveness.
Board Secretarial
· Preparation of board packs
· Attendance & minute taking at board hui
· Follow up on action items pertaining to previous hui
Administration
· Provide ongoing support to the GM of Finance, finance staff, CEO, senior leadership and Board of Trustees.
Health and Safety:
· Understands the hazards in own work area and eliminates or minimises the associated risk.
· All responsibilities of a worker under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 are met.
· Reports all incidents, accidents, and near misses in a timely fashion.
· Actively participates in Wellness and Safety initiatives and training.
HE KUPU WHAKAMĀRAMA MŌ TE TANGATA | ABOUT THE PERSON
Cultural Expertise:
· Reo Māori practitioner or committed to learning Te Reo Māori.
· Understanding of Te Arawa Tikanga and Kawa and a committed to embed this in your work.
· Knowledge of Karakia and Waiata and dedication to embedding this in practice.
· Willingness to learn about Maramataka and align it to planning and practices.
· Cultural intelligence including Mātauranga, Te Ao Māori, Atuatanga, and Pūrākau.
· Strong relationships with Marae, Hapū and Iwi and commitment to serve.
· Knowledge of Whakapapa and the application of this in practice.
· Knowledge of Taiao centric practices and devotion as a kaitiaki of the environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
· Certification or qualification in business administration or other relevant discipline is advantageous.
· Demonstrated experience in finance and HR administration.
