ReturnToWorkSA is a work injury insurer and regulator responsible for administering South Australia’s Return to Work Scheme. Their aim is to support workers and employers following workplace injury and to protect the integrity and sustainability of the scheme for the South Australian community. With a workforce of approximately 320 employees and a significant digital and operational transformation underway, the organisation is entering a critical phase focused on enterprise leadership, organisational alignment, capability uplift and long-term sustainability.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Executive Leader, People, Capability and Culture is a pivotal organisation wide leadership role and a member of executive team with a clear purpose to strengthen organisational capability, align culture and lift performance across a complex and highly visible environment. This is not a steady-state HR leadership position - it is a mandate to shape and influence the organisation’s future direction.
Leading a team of approximately 23 with three direct reports, you will work in close partnership with the CEO and Executive to embed a cohesive and high-performing workforce. You will play a central role in driving leadership capability, aligning culture across a multi-disciplinary environment and ensuring the organisation is positioned to deliver on key priorities including digital transformation, claims agent procurement and a pending scheme review. Success in this role will require the ability to navigate complexity, balance competing stakeholder expectations and deliver outcomes with both pace and discipline.
You are an experienced and credible people and culture executive leader who has operated in complex, regulated or service-based environments where visibility, accountability and stakeholder management are critical. You bring strong organisational judgement, deep industrial relations capability and a track record of leading meaningful transformation and capability uplift. Importantly, you are comfortable operating in ambiguity, able to challenge constructively at executive and board level and capable of building trust, alignment and momentum across diverse stakeholder groups.
This is a high-impact executive leadership opportunity to partner with an engaged CEO and Executive team, influence at enterprise level and shape the capability and culture of an organisation delivering critical outcomes for the South Australian community.
