About the role
This is a key, full time permanent role in our Mission, Research and advocacy team, based in our new modern offices in Fortitude Valley, close to public transport and parking.
We are seeking a dynamic Senior Advisor in Research and Evaluation to lead impactful research and evaluation initiatives that drive our organization’s strategic goals. In this role, you will design, conduct, and manage projects that shape our policies, programs, and practices. With a strong focus on both qualitative and quantitative research methods, you’ll develop and present evidence-based insights to support organisational decision-making. Key responsibilities include:
- Research & Evaluation Leadership: Develop and lead research projects, designing instruments for data collection and analyzing results. Oversee the production of timely, evidence-based information to inform planning, policy, and program development.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Build and maintain productive relationships with internal teams, research partners, universities, and funding agencies, influencing research outcomes and ensuring alignment with broader organizational goals.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to a collaborative team environment, sharing best practices and encouraging innovation. Stay current with professional development to enhance the organization’s research and evaluation capabilities.
About you
You love researching, applying your analytical expertise, solving problems, closing loops and are known for your attention to detail and diligence. This role is ideal for a research-driven professional skilled in project management, data analysis, and stakeholder engagement, ready to make a meaningful impact within a supportive, growth-oriented environment. You manage competing priorities and expectations with ease and professionalism. In particular, you will bring:
- Demonstrated experience in research, evaluation and improving service delivery outcomes
- Ability to analyse and evaluate complex problems and develop appropriate solutions
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Highly developed report writing skills at journal publication level, and conference presentation skills
- Highly developed influencing skills to effectively liaise, consult, and negotiate with a range of stakeholders both internal and external.
- Demonstrated experience in project methodology, management, and planning skills
- Demonstrated experience in delivery of quality work meeting limited timeframes with challenging deadline
- Current National Police Certificate (or ability to acquire)
- Current Blue Card (Working with Children)
- Current Queensland Driver Licence and ability to travel
- Post Graduate qualifications at Master’s level in Social Science, Psychology, Health, Human Services, or a related field (desired)
