The role
This is a key role within the organisation, reporting to the Executive Director. In this role, you will partner with the Executive Leadership team to provide support in planning, developing, directing, and evaluating organisational efforts to integrate the mission of the Church into the day-to-day operations of the organisation. The Director of Mission will provide leadership in the design, development, implementation and evaluation of programs and activities related to mission, core values, ethics, Anglican identity, and spiritual and pastoral care.
- Advocate for social issues and be a visible representative of Anglicare’s mission
- Provide transformational leadership, spiritual care and guidance within the organisation
- Lead, coach, develop recruit and retain Spiritual and Pastoral Care Team
- Prepare, manage and implement strategic activities outlined in the Strategic Plan
- Provide opportunities for engagement with Parishes, Schools and the wider community
- Assist and contribute to the social justice and advocacy plan
- Leverage technology and social media to connect with people and groups
- Attend events with government organisations and members of parliament to advocate for social issues
- Bring a spiritual, theological, missional, and values-based perspective to executive discussions, papers and business plans
- Drive the successful execution of Anglicare’s strategy through focus, clear communication to all stakeholders, creating accountability, aligning systems and processes, and establishing measurement to monitor performance
About you You will be a model of servant and authentic leadership with a strong background as a spiritual, missional and advocacy leader. You will be passionate and driven to inspire and empower our teams to maximise their contribution to our purpose. You bring:
- Extensive experience within the wider faith community including multi-faith contexts
- A deep knowledge of Anglican Church policy and theology
- Experience within community services and/or health care environments
- Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with Parishes and Anglican Schools to identify and support the development of new opportunities for partnerships
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong public speaker
- Demonstrated capacity to develop and implement specialized programs and resources related to mission, values, integration, spiritualty and faith formation for staff and clients
- Ability to work as a valuable team colleague in a demanding executive environment

Requirements - Current National Police Check
- Current Blue Card with Yellow Card Exemption
- Anglican Priest with a range and depth of ministerial and pastoral experience
- Post-graduate qualifications in Theology/Ministry with Pastoral or Specialist Chaplaincy practice
- Ability and willingness to travel within the service region
