The Opportunity
Axiom is seeking a project planner in Central Queensland supporting an underground mining operation. This role offers an excellent opportunity to learn how underground mines operate.  Work with senior site members to plan and coordinate critical activities for successful operations.  This role is the best introduction to the industry and exposes you to a vast range of mechanisms associated with the operation of a mine.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project schedules aligned with site requirements
• Monitor project progress and update schedules accordingly
• Assist with progress reporting, forecasting and schedule analysis
• Coordinate planning inputs with site, engineering and project teams
• Participate in planning and coordination meetings
• Review contractor schedules and support integration into project plans
• Assist with change management and schedule impact assessments

About You
You are a developing planner looking to gain hands-on experience in a site-based mining environment.
You will bring:

• Experience in project planning / scheduling OR underground coal mining operations
• Exposure to planning and scheduling practices
• Experience using Primavera P6 or similar tools (or willingness to learn)
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to work in a FIFO, site-based environment
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Applicants must have long-term work rights in Australia 

Underground coal mining experience will be highly regarded.
