We are working with a leading multidisciplinary design consultancy in the UAE to appoint a Head of Architecture. This is a rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced design leader to take ownership of a high-performing architectural team delivering award-winning projects across the region.

The Opportunity
Our client is seeking a visionary architect to lead their architecture business unit. This senior leadership position is responsible for driving design excellence, managing team performance, and engaging closely with clients to deliver standout work across commercial, hospitality, residential, and mixed-use developments.

You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the studio’s creative direction, overseeing project execution, and contributing to strategic business growth. The ideal candidate brings both design sensibility and commercial acumen, backed by a proven record of delivering complex, high-value projects in the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architectural business unit through strategic planning, team engagement, and high-level communication.
• Take ownership of all architectural design projects, ensuring timely, on-budget delivery aligned with high-quality standards.
• Inspire and mentor a team of architects, Revit specialists, and design professionals to deliver innovative and creative design solutions.
• Maintain a hands-on presence in key regional markets (Abu Dhabi and Riyadh) through regular site visits and stakeholder engagement.
• Drive continuous improvement across design methods, workflows, and client services.
• Collaborate with senior leadership on business development, fee proposals, and design presentations.
• Oversee resource planning, recruitment, outsourcing, and team structure to meet evolving project needs.
• Establish and monitor performance goals, KPIs, and team development plans.
• Promote emerging technologies and innovations in architectural design (e.g., AI, BIM advancements, rendering tools).
• Foster strong relationships with clients and partners to ensure outstanding service and long-term collaboration.

• Qualified Architect with 10+ years of experience in architectural design and project delivery.
• Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary design teams on large-scale and high-profile projects across sectors such as commercial, hospitality, and residential.
• Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring and developing high-performing teams.
• Excellent client-facing communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign), and other architectural tools. Familiarity with Rhino, Bluebeam Revu, and 3D rendering software is desirable.
• Strategic thinker with a proactive mindset and strong commercial awareness.
• Familiarity with FARO Laser Scanning, MS Project, and Dynamo is a plus.
• Demonstrated passion for innovation, design excellence, and continuous professional development.

• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with team members and organize quarterly team engagement initiatives.
• Maintain strong client relationships through frequent engagement beyond project meetings.
• Support business growth by identifying leads and building new client relationships monthly.
• Lead internal sessions to improve team awareness of commercial and operational strategies.
• Stay updated on industry trends and host biweekly sessions to introduce emerging technologies and tools.
