We are seeking to appoint a Casual Educator at Majella Early Years Centre & Kindergarten located in Chermside West. At Majella, we are an 85 place centre, providing care for children birth to 5 years. We have a modern centre with a brand-new playground being constructed.  

We are seeking an enthusiastic and energetic educator who is passionate about supporting children in their early years and being part of a high performing team. 

You must be warm, caring, nurturing and always up for a giggle and fun. We are seeking someone that values community and camaraderie and willing to be part of team to lead change and make our centre a big part of our community. 

Hours: Casual - availability Thursday highly desired, with the possibility for ongoing ISS hours for the right candidate 
Remuneration: 10.25% above award

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with the children to create a fun, educational program supporting each individual child holistically. 
• Provide children with a safe, secure, welcoming and nurturing environment.
• Work collaboratively within an established team to ensure the best outcomes for children and families.
• Participate in professional and personal development.
• Promote the service within the local community in accordance with Catholic Early EdCare’s expectations and educational philosophy.

  Job Requirements:

• Holds a Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education & Care (or working towards) OR holds an equivalent qualification recognised by ACECQA 
• Hold a current Queensland Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
• Knowledge and understanding of the child care industry practices including legislative requirements and quality frameworks.
• A passion for the education and care of children aged 6 months -Kindergarten aged in a play-based learning environment
• Experience working with children with additional needs would be a bonus
• Effective workplace communication skills
