About the role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Business Analyst – Finance to join our team. This role is crucial for providing business and systems support to our Finance department and the broader organization. The ideal candidate will ensure that all Finance systems comply with government and funding policies and guidelines, while delivering high-quality financial analysis and support.
 
F/T Monday to Friday – WFH option 1 day a week either Monday or Friday
 
Key roles and responsibilities

Financial and Operational Business Management

• Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Planning and Monitoring: Oversee financial planning and monitor financial performance.
• Creation of Power BI Models and Reporting: Design and implement Power BI models for detailed financial reporting.
• Financial Modelling: Conduct financial modelling to support business decisions.
• Variance Analysis: Perform variance analysis to identify and explain deviations from budget.
• Unit Pricing: Calculate and manage unit pricing for various services and products.
• Revenue Data Analysis: Analyse revenue data across all streams and produce comprehensive analytical reports.
• Data Utilization: Utilize statistical data for improved revenue and expenditure outcomes.
• Process Documentation: Review and maintain accurate process documentation.
• System Process Analysis: Analyse and specify requirements for system processes and reporting.
• Coordination of Accounting Functions: Assist with coordinating accounting and administration functions within the Centacare group.
• Financial Support: Provide financial analysis and support for the Financial Accounting teams.
• Auditing and Compliance: Assist with auditing and compliance tasks as directed.
• Additional Operations: Assist with additional accounting and administration operations as directed.

 
Qualifications and Experience
 
Educational Background:

• A degree in Finance, Accounting, IT, or Analytics with relevant postgraduate experience in a similar role.

Technical Skills:

• Advanced experience with Power BI reporting systems, including dashboard creation and data analysis.
• Experience with General Ledger systems (Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains is desirable but not essential).
• Experience in Data warehousing (Solver is desirable but not essential).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including working with cubes and linking to external data sources.

Experience:

• 5 years of experience in a finance-related role.
• Experience with Cost Centre and Payroll reporting (desirable).
• Experience with Budget analysis, reporting, and KPIs (desirable).
• Experience in writing financial reports for community services and performing data analyses using Power BI.
• Familiarity with Alayacare for data extraction (an advantage).
